1 thought on “Cornell Student Review of Atlas Shrugged Part II

  1. I saw “Atlas Shrugged” Part One, and found it to be even better than the book, if only because film can use a single scene, or shot, to replace the endless pages of essays that Rand notoriously plugged into her novel. Because the movie never stops the action to make a speech, but displays its ideas by showing instead of telling, it makes the lumbering novel remarkably fast-paced and vivid. The camera-work is also remarkably good; the spectacular scenes of the train making its experimental run are alone worth the price of admission.

Whether you like Rand’s philosophy or not, if Part Two is actually an improvement on the first film, it’ll be an Oscar contender.
