Over the past several days, Kuehl and incoming Ting have contested the presidency of the Student Assembly. This evening, nine of the SA’s seventeen members have signed a memorandum endorsing Kuehl.
The Student Assembly routinely embarrasses Cornell with scandals, partisan politics, and corruption. And why shouldn’t they? It’s not as if they could get any more unpopular.
Not several minutes following Da Silveira’s rise to power, losing EVP candidate Rocco DeLorenzo ‘24 filed a motion to dismiss Da Silveira. The motion carried, setting up a fight for filling the now-empty top job.
The College of Engineering, which has two seats on the SA, fielded three candidates. Only one was listed as a victor on yesterday’s election returns. The other two candidates allegedly fell short of the signature requirement.
After four days of voting last week, Cornell has released the results of the 2023 Student Assembly elections….
Informed sources have stated that many of the candidates for the various SA positions are the subject to challenges based upon alleged violations of the election rules.
