On September 2, 2024, UAW Local 2300 approved a settlement that ended the dining, maintenance, grounds, and janitorial worker strike that started on August 18.
On August 27, the United Auto Workers (UAW), who represents 1,200 dining, grounds, janitorial, and animal care workers, reached a settlement of their strike against Cornell University. Union members will ratify the proposed settlement by a vote held on Sunday September 1 and Monday, Sept 2, with the goal of returning to work on Tuesday, September 3.

On August 28, Cornell and the United Auto Workers (UAW) reached a tentative settlement of their dispute. The agreement will be put to a ratification vote by dining, custodian, grounds and maintenance workers on September 1 and 2 with the goal of resuming work on Tuesday, September 3.
