Cornell students can now apply to share the funds from a long-running class action lawsuit regarding cooperation between top-tier private universities to collaborate on calculating financial aid awards.
The 1:30 p.m. September 18 rally by the Coalition for Mutual Liberation (CML) targeted on-campus recruiting.Previously, CML focused upon divestment: CML demanded that Cornell disclose where it has invested its money and that none of it should be in companies that do business with Israel.
On Sunday, Sept. 8, a collective bargaining agreement between BorgWarner and about 700 assembly line workers represented by the Teamsters Union expired.
On August 27, the United Auto Workers (UAW), who represents 1,200 dining, grounds, janitorial, and animal care workers, reached a settlement of their strike against Cornell University. Union members will ratify the proposed settlement by a vote held on Sunday September 1 and Monday, Sept 2, with the goal of returning to work on Tuesday, September 3.
“[A]dministrative actions must be consistent and content neutral. In furtherance of institutional neutrality and deference to the many and diverse views in the Cornell community, the President and Provost will refrain from opining on national or global events that do not directly impact the university.”
On August 28, Cornell and the United Auto Workers (UAW) reached a tentative settlement of their dispute. The agreement will be put to a ratification vote by dining, custodian, grounds and maintenance workers on September 1 and 2 with the goal of resuming work on Tuesday, September 3.

On April 29, the U.S. Department of Education issued a final rule amending its regulations regarding sexual harassment and sexual assault.On July 2, a federal court in Kansas granted an injunction covering the states of Kansas, Alaska, Utah and Wyoming. However, because the organizations suing in the case included the Young America’s Foundation (YAF), Female Athletes United and Moms for Liberty, the judge gave the plaintiffs additional time to list schools located outside those states that should be covered by his order.
