President Trump Holds Rally in Syracuse

At the October 9, 2026 rally in Syracuse, NY, President Donald Trump appeared alongside Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman and his running mate, Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood, both of whom were explicitly mentioned and supported during the event. C-Span posted a video of the rally.

Several Republican candidates took to the stage around 5:30 p.m., including Congressional candidates Kailee Buller and Anthony Constantino.

Trump greeted the crowd at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at the Oncenter by proclaiming his love for Syracuse, just miles from Lake America.

Trump predicted victory for Blakeman. “He’s going to do a job like you. He’s fantastic. I’ve known him a long time. He’s a fantastic man. He’ll straighten things out fast. We’re going to elect a Republican House and a Republican Senate, stop the Democrats and the Communists, and we’re going to do a number like nobody’s ever seen.”

“The people of New York need to clean house in Albany on November 3rd, starting with Kathy Hochul. And her totally corrupt sidekick, Letitia Peekaboo James. She’s corrupt. And by the way, … you have a great attorney general candidate.”

Trump made an appeal to the Republican base to vote:

“In this election, I’m asking you to do me a favor, just pretend I’m on the ballot. Here’s the story: When I’m on the ballot, we win everything. When I’m not on the ballot, 48% of you don’t vote. Please pretend I’m on the freaking ballot, will you? And early voting starts on October 24th and continues through November 1st, and really, in a certain way, I am on the ballot because they can take away everything that we got. We got so much. We’re in the golden age.”

Mike Tyson

The rally brought in the extra celebrity power of boxer Mike Tyson, who visited the White House earlier in the day and took the trip to Syracuse on Air Force One alongside Trump.

While Trump was campaigning for Blakeman, Trump noted the presence and physical stature of Tyson.

“I see somebody in the audience that I will never fight, I promise. But I remember when Mike [Tyson] was in his prime, when he was the heavyweight champion of the world. He’d stand in the corner, and his people would all be holding him back. He wanted to kill whoever it was,” Trump said. “He was a very dangerous person actually, and he was one of the greatest fighters in history.”

Trump then joked that Tyson was there to protect Blakeman.

“I see him standing right next to Bruce Blakeman. Bruce wants a little protection; he’s got the right guy. Bruce knows who to stand near,” Trump said.

Later on, Tyson was called up on stage.

Iran War and Energy Prices

Trump announced a deal with Russia for diesel fuel, and claimed:

“It’s a fact. If Bruce Blakeman gets in, he will cut your electric bills by 70%, 80%, and 90%. They’ll be cut like you have never seen before. Thanks to the heroes of the US military, we also now have total control of the Strait of Hormuz. You know, we have total. And more oil is coming through the strait today than it was before the war. Do you believe that one? Refiners and retailers need to start dropping their prices right now. We want, we’re getting them so much oil. And by the way, today Russia agreed to send us millions and millions of barrels of oil, and it’s diesel that’s what we really need. So thank you. And we’re doing all of this and ensuring that Iran, again we’re doing all of this, and Iran is in deep trouble. The only thing they have is inflation. Everything else is no good. They have 301% inflation. They have no money. Their military is not being paid. Their police aren’t being paid. But remember this: they will never ever have a nuclear weapon. That’s the reason we went there. Less than 2 years ago. The radical left Democrats handed us the dark age of America, but now we quickly turned the dark age into the golden age of America”

Trump noted that Lee Zeldin, the Republican who ran against Governor Hochul four years ago, is now serving as head of the federal Environmental Protection Agency. Zeldin attended the rally.

Nobel Peace Prize

Trump spoke on the day that Norway announced Navi Pillay as the winner of the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. Trump’s speech reacted:

“Maria Corina Machado, a very fine woman, … got the Nobel Prize last year. Do you remember? And she stated to the media when she announced, and they announced that it was given to Maria, a very fine woman from Venezuela. And she said, No, no, no, I don’t deserve this. I didn’t know her. I never met her, didn’t hear of her. I don’t deserve this. The only one that’s deserving of it is President Donald Trump, and I’m going to give it to President Trump. Fine woman, but based on my record of peace, a record like no one ever has had, and I’m not saying this; I’m just saying how crooked the whole Nobel Prize deal is. No one else has ever come close to achieving what we in our country, I’m representing you, what the United States has achieved.”

He continued:

“The Nobel Prize was given out today to a liberal person who works at the United Nations who nobody has ever heard of. I’ve never heard of her. I know a lot of people. I’ve never heard of this particular person, but congratulations anyway. In all of the wars that I have settled, I never spoke to the United Nations. They were of no help to me. The United States of America, represented by me as your president, should have received the Nobel Peace Prize but didn’t. And this is an indelible stain on the country of Norway and those people who made such a disgraceful and embarrassing decision. The Nobel Peace Prize has been forever discredited by a handful of radical ideologues who are anti-democracy and really enemies of civilization, and we will not forget, Norway, that you didn’t give this prize. With the greatest record in history, not 8 wars, we should have had 8 Nobel Prizes for each war, but you didn’t give the Nobel Prize for Peace to the United States of America is just another sign of how Norway and all these others are ripping off our country.”

Trump left the stage at 9:37 p.m. The day after his Syracuse rally, Trump held his next rally in Clarksville, TN.
