According to the Cornell Hazing website, the New York Epsilon chapter of Sigma Phi has been found to have hazed its potential new members in Spring 2022. Sigma Phi will be on probation through December 2023.
Both professors are very knowledgeable in their fields, teeing up what could be a high-profile event, especially since climate change is such a controversial topic at Cornell.
President Pollack voiced approval for the proposal, stating in her email that she “support[s] efforts to expand access to non-prescription health care supplies, including contraception.”
In recent years, Cornell’s shared governance has taken an odd path, trying to find consensus between all five governing bodies on issues that don’t necessarily concern each one—the SA, Graduate and Professional Student Assembly, Faculty Senate, Employee Assembly (EA), and the University Assembly (UA)
On February 15, the Faculty Senate debated three resolutions, subject to an electronic vote after its hybrid in-person and Zoom meeting. Voting is now closed, and the Dean of the Faculty announced that all three resolutions were adopted.
On March 8th, the Cornell Review will be hosting alumnus Stephen Einhorn ‘64 to talk about climate change.
At the meeting last Tuesday, the UA approved the motion without much discussion or debate. Cady described the process as “very quick.”
On February 21, President Martha Pollack met with the University Assembly to discuss salary struggles, TCAT service cuts, and the humanitarian disaster in Turkey and Syria.
